    Hi Maria,

    This looks good! I would try to get a little more variety in the greens. Greens are soooo hard!! What I do is substitute other colors that are similar in value. That gives a piece a more painterly feel.

    Also, I’m not totally sold on the grasses in the foreground. Maybe think about those!

    Thanks so much for taking the time to comment on one of my independent pieces!
    I really appreciate your positive feedback as well as the constructive criticism. Having nearly finished part 1 of the river lesson, I now really understand how substituting other colors for greens really gives a more painterly feel and makes the piece so much more interesting. I’d like to hear why you would not put in the grasses in the foreground, but I’m thinking that they may be just a distraction.
