Maimouna Thomas – Color In The Landscape 8

In a little less than 30 mn, I painted this variation. first did a value scale. My aim is to change Carlson’s theory of angles and try to feel and see if the result still reads like a landscape, as Marla said . Very enjoyable process, result could be better specially with the treatment of edges. i must keep on working on values too. i’m confident i will improve through practising. Comments welcomed !

    Hi Maimouna,
I’m so glad you are enjoying the lesson! It looks as though you are working on a Canson or sketch paper. If you have access to a sanded paper you’ll have a much easier time achieving soft, lost and found edges.

I love seeing you thumbnail and the thought process. Really nice. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for your encouragement. Yes indeed I used unsanded canson miteinte to experiment. i like working with it even if I admit that sanded paper is more versatile.
